The Annual Enrollment is now closed.  The website will remain open for mid-term enrollments only.

All advisors that are required to maintain E&O insurance according to the HD Vest guidelines listed below and have not yet enrolled for E&O coverage will be automatically enrolled by HD Vest:

  • Advisors with a rolling gross production of $50,000 or more during the prior twelve months;M
  • Advisors who have transferred from another Broker/Dealer in the past 18 months (“Temporary Agent Transfers” or “TATs”) are required to enroll as of their effective date with HD Vest;
  • Advisors who sell Alternative Investments approved by HD Vest;
  • Planning Advisors who are enrolled in HD Vest Partners Program.

Coverage will be effective 5/1/2018 to ensure no gaps in coverage, provided you were enrolled under the HD Vest E&O Program in the prior policy period or maintained comparable coverage under a separate E&O policy, expiring 5/1/2018.  Advisors enrolled in the policy period which expired May 1, 2018 will be enrolled for the same coverage and limit option carried in the prior policy period.  Advisors enrolling for the first time will be given the $500K/$500K limit option with Basic Securities, Insurance & Cyber coverage (excludes Accounting option). 

The total annual E&O cost will be deducted from the Advisor’s commissions in full by HD Vest on July 15, 2018.

  2. Select desired plan
  3. Enroll and pay
  4. Certificate issued within 48 hours. 
  5. Login to My Account feature can be used after receipt of your certificate of insurance.

The participation fees for the E&O Program include premium, program administration fee and applicable affiliation fee. The participation fee is fully earned, and that if your relationship with HD Vest terminates for any reason coverage terminates the same date and you will not receive a refund of any portion of your participation fee.

Coverage is provided by National Fire & Marine Insurance Company (a Berkshire Hathaway Specialty company), a domestic surplus lines insurer, with a financial rating of A++ (Superior) by A.M. Best Company.

Notice to Certificate Holders: This insurance contract is with an insurer not licensed to transact insurance in this state and is issued and delivered as surplus line coverage under the Texas insurance statutes. The Texas Department of Insurance does not audit the finances or review the solvency of the surplus lines insurer providing this coverage, and the insurer is not a member of the property and casualty insurance guaranty association created under Chapter 462, Insurance Code. Chapter 225, Insurance Code, requires payment of a 4.85 percent tax on gross premium. This coverage is placed through Agents Professional Liability Service Organization (APLSO), a risk purchasing group duly organized under the Federal Risk Retention Act of 1986 and registered in all states. Enrollment in this E&O Program automatically includes membership in APLSO.
